The drinking begins..!

After a nice chilled out few days here we had a pretty mental and fun couple of days!! We went down south of the island (near Bann Tai) to find a few bars and stumbled across a wicked beach 'electronic lounge' bar where the DJs played some pretty good house music and met a few cool people.  A couple of nice guys called Rory and Nick- one who is working here for a while, enjoying the thai lifestyle and the other on holiday visiting his mate who owned the bar..anyway after a drink or two and a few games of pool, we were persuaded to go Half Moon party with them which was in the middle of the jungle, a massive party! Was amazing! I actually preferred it to Full Moon I think as it was on a much smaller scale and the set up was amazing.  Got to go up to the DJ stand at the top overlooking the crowd, which was immense and danced the night away.
Got a couple of hours sleep in until we were up again, on the beach and then flopped by the afternoon.
We went back out again last night back to the same bar to meet some of the guys and was meant to be a 'chilled few drinks'...ended up another 5 in the morning job but had good fun! a small little crowd of people basically having there own private party.

We've been up to where our mate is staying in a villa with some DJ who seems to have done well for himself-Graham Gold!? beautiful place overlooking the sea high up inland, but a killer of a walk..think me and amy may feel the effects of that steep walk tomrw.

So now we have just got back from a few beers at a bar called Amsterdam bar, watching the sunset with the most amazing view!! a couple of the guys took us on there mopeds which was a great way to the island but I was holding on for dear life haha!! So cabbed it back..

Absolutely loving Thailand again..u meet so many random people, every taxi journey home has been very amusing where we've met hippies singing and strumming a guitar, people bottered from half moon, and many weird and wonderful backpackers with a story tell!

all in all we r well and truely into the swing of things now and absolutely KOed tonight..a movie and food night in I think :)

Koh Phangan bound

So our last couple of days in Koh Tao were amazing!! we went out to play mini golf one night which was actually really good fun! Crazy golf with a twist. At each new hole u had to spin a wheel where it told u to stand on one leg, or hit the ball with ur eyes closed or upside down etc, had a giggle and some nice munch!!
We then lazed by the pool enjoying the beautiful sunshine, catching up on some sleep and reading, eating some lovely food and enjoying our £6 thai massages :)

We arrived in Koh Phangan yesterday afternoon to find the weather isn't quite as nice here even though its only an hour and half boat ride away. Quite cloudy and rainy but had a few hours sun this morning which was lovely.  Our resort is rather nice although we do miss Koh Tao already!
We were hoping to meet up with some friends today but there are certain people or person that I am avoiding whilst here so will maybe catch up with them tomorrow.
Think a few drinks are in order tonight, we've been so good and hardly drunk at all to be honest..getting old you see!! haha!!

Will try upoad some pics but this internet can take a while to get going sometimes...

happy 2013!

So its January 1st 2013!! Happy New Year! we had an enjoyable night spent at our resort to begin with.  They laid on a gala dinner with entertainment, food, and games.  The dinner wasn't my cup of tea and the entertainment was very family orientated but we had fun playing the games for a bit where amy won us 2 beers and coz i wasn't so good got 2 mars bars instead haha!! We had our first Thai bucket which set us up for the night and decided to take a wonder down the beach where we found a party full of travellers.  Met a couple of French people who we had a laugh with and danced the night away with fireworks constantly going off on the beach!! We were home by a sensible 2am :) and woke up feeling quite fresh for new years day where we have spent the day relaxing round our goreous pool which overlooks the bay! stunning.

Off to play mini golf tonight down the road which should be a giggle and got our last full day in Ko Tao tomrw so going to make the most of our luxury resort before we head off to slum it with the travellers!!

Finally arrived in Koh Tao!

Our first proper day relaxing by the pool in Koh Tao
Very happy laying in the 32degree heat
me and Aims tanning it up
 Our view at lunch time
Popped out for a bite to eat
Chalok Baan - Koh Tao= beautiful
 Our first Thai meal :)
First green curry of many I'm sure
...And then it absolutely chucked it down!!!

So we've had a lovely day today after a horrific journey to Koh Tao! The boat was rocking from side to side through the choppy sea which wasn't good for my fear of boats! then after about half hour of it I started to feel mega sick! never had sea sickness before, was horrible!! luckily we stopped in Phangan half way for 15 mins which gave me time to come round a bit before the next hour stint of the boat trip.  Luckily we sat in the middle this time which made it feel less rocky and my Ipod got me through!
The resort we are staying at (Koh Tao Resort) is beautiful and more of a holiday destination than a backpackers so is nice to have the luxury for a few days after a rough start.
My bag has broke already and my ring that I've worn for 7 years :( and we cant get across to the Full Moon Party for new years as all boats are full!! Is crazy how busy this place is now compared to 5 years ago. But we aren't too fussed as we've experienced 2 amazing nights there before, so will enjoy the party at our resort tonight.
We've spent the day laying by the pool in 32 degree heat, relaxing and eating.  Then after lunch the heavens opened and it decided to chuck it down with rain!! and only stopped after about 4 hours!
Well off to get ready for our new years tonight now.  Happy Birthday to my lovely mum, wish I was there to give her a hug.  Happy New Year everyone xxx

Just a few pics of the trip so far...

Arrived at Singapore

Killing time at the airport...we had 8 hours!

Chinky Aim

We arrived in Koh Samui finally and treated ourselves to a nice Chang beer on the beach
Amy had a little paddle this morning
Our beach in Samui, had to stay here a little while longer than expected due to the boats being fully booked to Koh Tao as its a busy time of year :(
Chilling on the beach...in the on/off rain!
So nice to be in the warmth finally
 Amy
We found shelter when it started to rain under a chilled hut

Well we have a bit of a mare today with trying to get over to Koh Tao as the boats are fully booked with everyone arriving for Full Moon Party new years.  We are now booked on a 5pm boat this evening but not too bad as its been cloudy and rainy here today anyway. Still very warm but last night was a massive storm with thunder and lightning which woke us up at 4am :(
Started off our day with a nice beer tho and making the most of it. Speak soon xx

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS...AGAIN!!!

So 5 years on me and Amy decided to pack our bags and set off on our travels again!! This time is only for 4 months but hoping to cram alot more in now we are older and wiser so won't be spending ALL our time drinking and partying on the beach :)

So we left at 10.30am on Fri 28th December 2012 for Heathrow.  After some tears and emotional goodbyes to our parents again (ok tears from me not Amy lol) we got on our 13 hour flight to Singapore.  Must admit Singapore Air are the nicest company I've flown with, very impressed so that put us off to a good start!
We've now been sitting in Singapore airport for 7 hours, waiting for our flight this evening to Koh Samui where we will spend one night and then head to Koh Tao in the morning for 5 days in a luxury resort (we thought we could do with spoiling ourselves before the slumming it and trekking begins!)
We've only just managed to confirm our accomodation for tonight but very happy now we know we will have a bed.
It's currently 28degrees outside which we felt for a whole 5 minutes but was soooo humid our faces were shiny after 2 mins haha!!
Not much to update at the moment but doing it bit by bit while I have wi-fi access and free time.

We are off to the Full Moon Party for the third time for New Years Eve and hopefully meeting up with some friends there so that should be good fun! If I dont update until then, then HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!!!
