What a wicked last few days its been!! we arrived in Surfers Paradise where we visited the beach and pretty much chilled and Amy arrived later that night!! we went out the second night on a school disco bar crawl with other backpackers which was loads of fun!! we all dressed up and went to a few bars and ended in a club and had loadsa fun. We only got a few hours sleep before having to get up for our coach journey to Noosa.
Noosa is a lovley little town and the sun was shining wahoooo!!! me and Amy went to the National Park there to find Koalas in the trees and watched the beautfiul sunset together, how romantic lol!! we went to Steve Irwins zoo (Australia Zoo) the next day which was loads of fun!! The trip there we watched a Steve Irwin video which was cool! we saw his daughther Bindi perform on stage and his wife do the croc show. The guys were nutters like Steve Irwin with the crocs literally gettin feet away to feed it and having to run away from them if they chased them lol!!
We stroked Koalas, fed and stroked Kangaroos, see a guy playing with 3 cub tigers in the water, see elephants and deadly snakes, ewww!! it was a good day out.
After Noosa we arrived in Hervey Bay where we had to have a meeting for our Frasier Island trip and meet our fellow campers for the weekend. We spent 3 days, 2 nights on Frasier Island driving a 4x4 car on the sand and in the forest. The ride was scary on the sand especially when the guys put their foot down, everyone bumping about off their seats!!but it was a good experience. We stopped off at places along the way for picnics, to see beautiful lakes such as Lake Mackenzie, unfortunately it was raining when we were their though but the sun came out the second day and we all had a lovely swim in the rock pools.
We had 8 people altogether in our group and everyone (but me) took turns in driving. Our first day we had a few things go wrong such as the weather being crap, then our car broke down and we had to wait for a mechanic to come out to us and we got stuck in the sand a few times and had to all get on our hands and knees and dig away at the sand haha!! Our first night we just made in time to our camp site before the tide came up too high. The camp was cool, we got our own gazibo thing to sleep in, kitchen area and fire area. The whole team all pitched in to cook, get the fire going and wash up. We had a lovely BBQ and plenty of booze and spent the night on the beach then back at camp playing drinking games and having fun.
We all woke up covered in mosquito bites!! then set off hungover for day two. We swam in the sea, did plenty of walking and held on tight to our seats and finally got to sunbathe after 5 months!! We stayed in a different camp this night, proper camping in tents and no lights haha. But after dinner we were invited to join a big group of fisherman who had a big campfire going and toasted our marshmallows on the fire. The men were funny as, telling jokes all night and drinking ofcourse!! We ended the trip mid afternoon the next day feeling exhausted but it was such a cool experience and got on well with everyone!!
We are now in Airlie Beach, it took us 13 hours on the coach to get here and its raining....again!! xx
